Matt Kuchar carded 1-over par 71 on the final day of play at the Transitions Championship in Tampa, Fla. Sunday to finish T12, his second-highest finish of the 2009 PGA Tour season. He completed the tournament with a 3-under par 281 (72-68-69-72), recording 13 birdies along the way.
The T12 finish moved Kuchar into 42nd place in the PGA Tour's FedEx Cup standings, up three slots since being ranked 45th following a week off. His $105,840 winnings in the event bring Kuchar's 2009 season total to $468,268.
Kuchar has made six of seven cuts in '09 events and finished in the Top-25 four times. He ranks 20th on the Tour in scoring average (69.62) and third in scrambling (72.25%). On putts from 5-10 feet, Kuchar's 68.29% accuracy rate ranks 6th among Tour players.
Kuchar will take the rest of the Florida tournaments off before hitting the links again at the Verizon Heritage in Hilton Head, S.C. on Apr. 16. He finished tied for 7th at last year's event.
