Kuchar Ties for 5th at the Memorial

In his best result of the 2009 PGA Tour season, Matt Kuchar tied for fifth at the Memorial in Dublin, Ohio, last weekend. Kuchar carded a four-day total of 282, six shots behind tournament winner Tiger Woods.

The second round saw Kuchar shoot a 67, which included six birdies, to propel him near the top of the leaderboard. Kuchar ended the week hitting 73.6% of greens in regulations and averaged 30 putts per round.

With a top-five finish, Kuchar earned $219,000 to raise his season winnings to $916,715 in 2009. Kuchar also remains in the hunt for the FedEx cup, currently sitting in 55th place.

Kuchar will play in a 36-hole U.S. Open Sectional Qualifier on Monday at Hawks Ridge Golf Club in Ball Ground, Ga., where 43 players are competing for three spots in the 2009 U.S. Open.
