Kuchar Wins at Turning Stone

October 5 , 2009

Matt Kuchar picked up his second career PGA Tour victory at the Turning Stone Resort Championship, defeating Vaughn Taylor in a six hole playoff.  The two were tied at -17 after 72 holes and played two playoff holes yesterday, before finishing the sudden death playoff on Monday morning. Kuchar holed a 5 five inch par putt on the 13th hole to defeat Taylor.

With the victory, Kuchar earns a two year exemption on the PGA Tour  and moves up into 25th place on the PGA Tour Money List.  The top 30 players on the Money List at year’s end earn invitations to the 2010 Masters and US Open, as well as the winner’s only SBS Championship.

Kuchar will return to action next week at the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open in Las Vegas, NV, October 15-18.
